Crossroads Christian Schools
Challenge
Larry was looking for marketing solutions for his new independent school serving K-12 students with learning disabilities. He and his sister envisioned a place where kids could receive individualized instruction in a nurturing, small-group environment. Getting parents to enroll in a start-up school would be a challenge since there was no track record to show. He wanted a resource that parents could turn to for more information than a standard brochure could hold. The more they knew about the school philosophy and programs, the more likely they would
Solution
Larry thought a Web site for a private school was a good solution, but he had no prior experience building Web pages. Larry heard about Homestead and decided to give it a try. Using the point-and-click SiteBuilder, he was able to get his first couple of pages up in 2-3 hours. The broad selection of graphics in the Art Today Elements enabled him to customize the look of his site to reflect the spirit of the school. With the domain name feature, he selected a URL for his site that would strengthen the Crossroads brand.
Success
Enrollment at Crossroads has climbed from 0 to 175 in just one year. Larry projects they will double enrollment by next school year, and plans to rely heavily on the site as the focal point in his communications with families. Since its launch, Crossroads School has been acquired by Educational Services of America, a privately held company that runs a network of private schools across the United States. When the ESA approached Larry, they expressed admiration for his site. He has gone on to build several more sites for other schools in the ESA network.
"Homestead is so simple and easy. Anyone who can click, copy or paste on a computer can build a site. It incorporates so many things in one package, whereas if you paid for the same things separately, it would cost a great deal more."
