Tulare Western High School
Challenge
Raymond came to Tulare Western and changed a stagnant music department to one with top ratings. From the Marching Band, to the Symphonic Orchestra, to the Steel Drums Ensemble, Raymond's music program serves hundreds of students. Each music group has its own schedule full of performances, events, travel and fundraisers, which can add up to dozens each year. It was a daunting task to keep up communications with students and parents across all groups. Posting and distributing paper schedules was exhausting and time consuming.
Solution
Raymond considered a Web site, but had no prior Web site knowledge. When he discovered Homestead he realized he'd "struck gold" with the point-and-click ease of the SiteBuilder. The lack of outside advertising caught his attention, as he wanted to preserve the integrity of his pages, and the cost of membership easily fit within his tight budget. In just a few hours, Raymond had his first pages ready to go. With a click of the 'Publish' button, he amazed himself with an instant debut on the Web.
Raymond needed a way to centralize information about the extensive music program at Tulare Western High School.
Success
The site is now thriving. What used to require piles of paper and tons of time, can now be accomplished with just a few clicks in a couple minutes. With upwards of 80% of his students accessing the site regularly, they are more informed and able to meet the challenges of their busy music schedule. Parents are on the site constantly, which cuts the time he'd otherwise spend on the phone giving out information.
"My site is an absolute godsend! The cost of the membership is pennies compared to what the site does for the music program. I just couldn't do without the site!"
