How to make your site work for parents
Link to sites that provide information on topics like child development, parenting, and child health and safety issues.
Inform them of upcoming school programs and events by posting a calendar. Provide the rules and procedures for these events as well as relevant e-mail address for teachers or parents.
Recruit families as volunteers to support student programs.
Get them to take an active role in their child's learning. Link to homework help sites, or provide at-home activities and a reading list.
Include links to the PTA and other organizations so they can participate in decisions affecting the school.
Link to local resources and community agencies that may be of interest.
