Tips for building an effective education website

Define your goals. Decide how you want to use the site and who your audience is.

Defer to your school or district's website policy. Make sure you coincide with your school or district's stand on Web site content and design.

Keep your visitors in mind. Create a simple site that is attractive but quick to download and easy to navigate.

Keep your site up to date. Maintain your site regularly.  Replace outdated information and announcements.

Get students involved. Expand the learning experience by inviting students to help determine content and teaching them how to build their own pages.
